We are the ones we have been waiting for – Native American adage
So much of the job search is waiting — waiting for your resume to be picked, waiting to be invited to interview, waiting for a decision on the offer. It is easy to think the job search is out of your control, and you are waiting for approval, for help, for rescue elsewhere. It is true that for any one opportunity you are dependent on another person/ the company for a mutual match. But across your entire job search and over the arc of your career, there are many opportunities, all of which you create. As you wait on one opportunity, seek out more. You are not just waiting for someone else. You are the one you are waiting for.
