This top media company operates in 25 countries and is home to some of the world’s most celebrated media brands. In the United States, it publishes 18 consumer magazines, four business-to-business publications, 27 websites, and more than 30 apps for mobile and tablet devices, all of which define excellence in their categories. This company has won more National Magazine Awards over the past ten years than all of its competitors combined.

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure key performance indicators and brand satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Digital Product Manager is expected to:

 

1.      Define the product strategy and roadmap for web and mobile products

2.      Be experienced in Agile development

3.      Manage, prioritize and refine user stories

4.      Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification

5.      Work with external third parties to vet partnerships opportunities

6.      Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples

7.      Be an expert in at least once of the following:  smartphone application development, CMS systems, ecommerce systems, Adobe CQ5/CRX

 

 

Required experience and knowledge

 

1.      Minimum of 2 years experience as a Product Manager

2.      Minimum of 5 years experience in a software or engineering environment

3.      Experience in publishing or media a plus

4.      Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

5.      1+ years of experience in and Agile development environment

6.      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

7.      Bachelor’s degree or MBA

8.      Excellent teamwork skills

9.      Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

10.  Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
